    First time at CAI Gaasterland. Leaving home at 5 Am was a bit early; however, it was all worth it. We had a lot of fun!

    Carolien was Head of Obstacle 7 (when you hire an official, you get the photographer for “free” …), while I was the nanny for the Driving-Images dog Billy.

    I was mainly switching between Obstacles 6 and 7, along with my daughter, Iris, and Billy. This explains why I do not have all images shot at O6 (or O7).

    Driving Times during Extreme Weather

    Course time calculation

    In the event of a heat protocol/extreme weather, you may need to calculate travel times based on speed.

    For this purpose, there is the Driving Time Calculator – Distance/Speed, link to the calculator at the end of this post.

    To calculate the time allowed for Route A,

    • Enter the length of the route in km (distance)
    • Enter the speed in km/h (speed)

    Now we will calculate the minimum time for Route A. The minimum time for Route A is 2 minutes* less than the time allowed:

    • “Min” = 2
    • “Sec” = 0

    The complete table with the times for Course A is now displayed.

    Now do the same for Course B, except that the minimum time for Course B is 3 minutes* less than the allowed time.

    * Always double-check the correct times with the local rules/regulations


    Course Times (Dutch KNHS competition rules for driving 2025-94)

    • The time allowed for each course is calculated according to the average speed chosen for that course in accordance with Article 452.6. b. c. d.
    • The minimum time for course A is 2 minutes less than the time allowed.
    • The minimum time for course B is 3 minutes less than the time allowed.
    • The maximum time for course A and the transition course is equal to the time allowed plus 20%.
    • The maximum time for course B is equal to twice the time allowed.

    To refresh the data in the tables after a change, change the time between the minimum and maximum times.

    This calculator is still under development. The results align with the regulations, but the functionality remains somewhat cumbersome. We are currently working on this.

    In het geval van een hitteprotocol / extreem weer kan het zijn dat je de trajecttijden moet berekenen aan de hand van de snelheid.

    Hiervoor is er de Trajecttijdencalculator – Afstand / Snelheid, link naar de calculator aan het eind van deze post

    Om de toegestane tijd voor Traject A te berekenen,

    • Vul de lengte van het traject in, in km (distance)
    • Vul de snelheid in, in km/u (speed)

    Nu gaan we de minimum tijd van Traject A berekenen. De minimumtijd voor A-traject is 2 minuten lager dan de toegestane tijd:

    • “Min” = 2
    • “Sec” = 0

    Nu verschijnt de volledige tabel met de tijden voor Traject A.

    Doe nu hetzelfde voor traject B, alleen de minimumtijd voor traject B is 3 minuten lager dan de toegestane tijd.


    Tijden in de trajecten (wedstrijdreglement-mennen-2025-94)

    • De toegestane tijd voor ieder traject wordt berekend volgens de gemiddelde snelheid, gekozen voor dat traject in overeenstemming met artikel 452.6. b. c. d.
    • De minimumtijd voor A-traject is 2 minuten lager dan de toegestane tijd.
    • De minimumtijd voor traject B is 3 minuten lager dan de toegestane tijd.
    • De maximumtijd voor de A-traject en het overgangstraject is gelijk aan de toegestane tijd plus 20%.
    • De maximumtijd voor traject B is gelijk aan tweemaal de toegestane tijd.

    Een wijziging van de tijd tussen de minimum en toegestane tijd refreshed de tabel met aangepaste velden.

    Deze calculator is nog in ontwikkeling, de uitkomsten zijn conform het reglement, de functionaliteit is nog iets omslachtig. Hier wordt nog aan gewerkt.
