Dressuur & Strafpunten
Iedere fanatieke menner zal dat wel eens hebben ondervonden; een dressuurproef van het samengesteld mennen rijden,maar geen strafpunten berekend krijgen. Wat nu? Hoe reken je dat uit? Dat zelfde probleem hadden wij ook.
Onze uitdaging lag eerst bij het feit dat 1 van de kinderen het zelfde probleem had tijdens een “onder het zadel/man/vrouw” wedstrijd had. Voordat je het begrijpt hoe het zit, ben je minimaal een uur verder.
Afgelopen weekend kwam dezelfde vraag, nu vanaf het samengesteld mennen.
Aangezien het samengesteld mennen ons beter ligt dan “paarden en zadels”, hierbij een inzicht in de diverse berekeningen. Om het makkelijk te houden heb ik alleen de berekeningen voor het Nederlands samengesteld mennen dressuur proeven En de FEI driving Dressage tests aangehouden.
De opzet is simpel: eerst de tool om de strafpunten uit te rekenen. Daarna volgt de uitleg. Wil je eerst uitleg? Dan moet je onderaan beginnen.

SWM Heeten 2025
Terwijl alle ogen gericht waren op het FEI Driving World Championship for Ponies Le Pin au Haras 2025 (FRA) ging het normale men-leven in Nederrland gewoon door. In het onderstaande album (enkele voorbeelden) en de facebook-link (het gehele fotoalbum), foto’s van de samengestelde menwedstrijd Heeten, georganiseerd door Menvereniging Heeten.

CAI Gaasterland / Harich
First time at CAI Gaasterland. Leaving home at 5 Am was a bit early; however, it was all worth it. We had a lot of fun!
Carolien was Head of Obstacle 7 (when you hire an official, you get the photographer for “free” …), while I was the nanny for the Driving-Images dog Billy.
I was mainly switching between Obstacles 6 and 7, along with my daughter, Iris, and Billy. This explains why I do not have all images shot at O6 (or O7).
Everywhere nice, international people, great sports!

Driving Times during Extreme Weather
When the weather forecast institute predicts temperatures of 27 degrees Celsius or higher for the next 24 hours, this is considered extreme weather. (example, Dutch standard)
To provide horse owners with guidance on how to deal with extreme weather conditions, the Sector Council for Horses has decided to draw up a ‘Protocol for extreme weather conditions for horses’.
- The technical delegate and the chairman of the jury may adjust the times/speeds in the event of severe weather and/or terrain conditions. (Dutch KNHS regulation)
- In the event of exceptionally hot and humid weather, the time allowed for the mandatory rest period (after the A course) may be extended by the jury on the advice of the competition veterinarian. (Dutch KNHS regulation)
Course time calculation
In the event of a heat protocol/extreme weather, you may need to calculate travel times based on speed.
For this purpose, there is the Driving Time Calculator – Distance/Speed, link to the calculator at the end of this post.
To calculate the time allowed for Route A,
- Enter the length of the route in km (distance)
- Enter the speed in km/h (speed)
Now we will calculate the minimum time for Route A. The minimum time for Route A is 2 minutes* less than the time allowed:
- “Min” = 2
- “Sec” = 0
The complete table with the times for Course A is now displayed.
Now do the same for Course B, except that the minimum time for Course B is 3 minutes* less than the allowed time.
* Always double-check the correct times with the local rules/regulations

Course Times (Dutch KNHS competition rules for driving 2025-94)
- The time allowed for each course is calculated according to the average speed chosen for that course in accordance with Article 452.6. b. c. d.
- The minimum time for course A is 2 minutes less than the time allowed.
- The minimum time for course B is 3 minutes less than the time allowed.
- The maximum time for course A and the transition course is equal to the time allowed plus 20%.
- The maximum time for course B is equal to twice the time allowed.
To refresh the data in the tables after a change, change the time between the minimum and maximum times.
This calculator is still under development. The results align with the regulations, but the functionality remains somewhat cumbersome. We are currently working on this.
